On November 14, 2019, EURid will launch .ευ (.eu in Greek, .xn--qxa6a). Policies and prices for .eu domain names will also apply to the Greek string .ευ.
Alongside the release of the Greek .ευ extension, EURid will clone any domain names already existing in the Greek script with Latin .eu TLD extension over to the Greek .ευ TLD extension.
Example for a domain in the Greek script with .eu and its cloned version with .ευ:
As part of the cloning operation, a three-year script adjustment phase will also launch. Consequently, both .eu domain names in the Greek script and their .ευ clones will coexist for a period of three years, ending on November 14, 2022. After this date, domain names in the Greek script with the Latin .eu TLD extension will gradually be deleted.
As of November 14, 2019, it will no longer be possible to register domain names in the Greek script with the Latin .eu TLD extension.
