AdultBlock is a defensive domain blocking product that restricts the registration of domain names containing trademark names by unauthorized third parties in four Top Level Domains.
On January 14, 2022, all Sunrise B blocks which protect brands under the .xxx TLD since 2011 will expire. This will expose those brand owners to the risk of domain abuse. But this revolutionary blocking approach has been extended so that AdultBlock/AdultBlock+ service is now blocking brand names under .sex, .adult, .porn, and .xxx.
Back in 2011, ICM Registry launched the .xxx Sunrise B program, a service to help trademark owners protect their brands against registrations that would associate them with the adult entertainment industry. The registry then launched.sex, .adult and .porn TLDs in 2015.
By blocking a string or label, it cannot be registered by any unauthorized persons in the four TLDs and therefore cannot be used for nefarious purposes. The service blocks the registration of terms that are registered or unregistered brands, names of celebrities, companies, and organizations, including terms that have been blocked previously in the .xxx Sunrise B phase.
Benefit from AdultBlock service:
Both services include the same powerful core features with AdultBlock+ advancing the scope of protection even further by offering extended coverage. The enhanced service provides brands with a powerful tool in combating threats both now and in the future.
